Another Nokia Lumia Style Phone Coming Soon

After releasing the Nokia Lumia-inspired Skyline and Crest, HMD is following up with a new product called Hyper.

Since dropping the Nokia brand on its smartphones, HMD has been steadily introducing new devices, from the Skyline to the Crest. However, they all have something in common: they are all in the entry-level and mid-range segments. The company is also preparing to launch another fashion phone, the HMD Barbie, based on a collaboration with the Barbie doll brand, as a redesigned version of the Nokia 2660 Flip with a clamshell design.

Now, HMD is continuing this trend with plans to launch a new phone called the HMD Hyper, which will be aimed at the mid-range segment of the Skyline when it hits shelves later this year. An official image and specifications of the HMD Hyper have now been shared on X, suggesting that this launch won't be long in the future.

In terms of design, the HMD Hyper looks a lot like the HMD Skyline, which is to say, it has a strong Nokia Lumia style . On the back, the camera cluster is a bit smaller, but the rest of the elements look a lot like the Skyline.

When it comes to specs, the HMD Hyper is a bit of a step down from the HMD Skyline, at least based on leaked information. The HMD Hyper is said to pack Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip, while the Skyline is equipped with the more powerful Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chip.

In addition, the HMD Hyper is said to have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card slot), as well as a large 4,700mAh battery that supports 33W wired charging. The HMD Hyper comes with a triple camera setup on the back, consisting of 50MP, 13MP, and 8MP sensors. There is also a 50MP selfie camera on the front housed in a punch-hole cutout.

Sadly, the leaker doesn’t mention the screen size, only saying it’s an OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The source also doesn’t mention pricing or release date, but it’s sure to be cheaper than the HMD Skyline, which is currently priced at around $500.
